Bureau County Historical Society
The Bureau County Historical Society operates two museum buildings and a research library with a variety of resources on Bureau County’s history!
Lovejoy Homestead
The Owen Lovejoy House is a historic house museum on East Peru Street in Princeton, Illinois. Built in 1838, it was for many years home to Owen Lovejoy, a prominent abolitionist and congressman.

Festival 56
Festival 56 presents a wide selection of the most memorable plays and musicals throughout history, from the plays of William Shakespeare to the new generation of Broadway composers.
Prairie Arts Center
Since its formation in 1995, the Prairie Arts Council has sponsored hundreds of successful programs, classes, musical and theatrical productions and visual arts exhibits for people of all ages and abilities.
Apollo Theater
Since 1883, the historic Apollo Theater has been showing movies to the general public. Stop and see a show at one of the two theaters and enjoy the tasty popcorn and snacks.
Bureau County Chorus/Band
The Bureau County Chorus and Band is where bright talented singers and musicians volunteer to share their gift of voice and music to the public.
